Looking to refresh their brand and reach a broader market, Parties.com, a party and costume supply store, wanted a logo that spoke to their main demographic of young mothers while appealing to dads and kids as well. They wanted a mark that reflected a sense of history, warmth, nostalgia, and playfulness, and we decided to go with a hand-lettered logo, which the client absolutely loved.
As hand-lettering of any sort can be a tricky process, the logo went through various iterations, some of which you can see here. Of course, the most difficult part is vectorizing it, which can take ages by itself. Here you can see we explored a number of different options, some more delicate, some more aggressive, some more vintage-y (is that a word?), some more modern. The process was time-consuming, sure, but I loved every second of it.
